Restructuring the IBPA in 2026-2027
Our first IBPA meeting on Tuesday, August 25th focused on a restructuring of our IBPA, designed to create more meaningful opportunities for families to support our students, staff, and school community.
As part of this restructuring, we have established several new committees that will help strengthen communication, celebrate student achievements, support our teachers, build community partnerships, and provide financial support for IB initiatives.
At the bottom of this post, you will find Meghan Bishop’s Power Point from the meeting, as well as more information about each committee and links to sign up to serve on the committees.
IBPA Updated Goals
Moving forward, Southeast’s IBPA aims to:
- Expand opportunities for parents to play meaningful roles in supporting students and our school community.
- Align our IBPA with IB values of collaboration, shared responsibility, and community engagement.
- Strengthen the partnership between school and families to support student success academically, socially, and personally.
- Ensure that our families feel valued as essential partners.
IBPA Updated Vision
We’ve updated our vision to align with our new goals:
- To support Southeast High School as an IB World School by fostering community, celebrating student achievement, enhancing learning opportunities, and providing financial support through meaningful partnerships.
- To create a welcoming community where every family feels connected and every student feels supported.
IBPA Core Values
We have six core values:
- International Mindedness
- Service
- Community
- Student Success
- Teacher Support
- Academic Excellence
IBPA Committees
We will have four key committees made up of parent/guardian volunteers. Each committee will be led by a Committee Chair and may include as many parent volunteers as needed.
Committee Chairs work collaboratively with the IBPA Leadership Team and the IB Coordinator to support the goals of the IB Parent Alliance.
- Communications & Membership
- Student & Family Engagement
- Teacher Appreciation & Community Partnerships
- Fundraising & Finance
How You Can Help
We believe strong partnerships between families and Southeast High School are essential to our students, and we value the unique talents, skills, and perspectives each family brings to our community.
We encourage every IB family to sign up for one committee in a way that fits their interests and availability. Whether you can contribute a few hours during the year or take on a leadership role, your involvement helps ensure that every student feels supported, every family feels connected, and that Southeast High School is the best place for students to learn, grow, and succeed.
Signing Up for a Committee & More Information
If you have not yet signed up for a committee, please take a few moments to do so. Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to an amazing year ahead!
